We started Runaway Grrrl Foundation in 2012 with a mission to support women of all ages in their quest to become independent, educated, financially stable powerhouses, and that mission continues today.
We focus on providing women with scholarships for higher education to help ease the financial burden required to pursue advanced studies.

This is a merit-based award open to females graduating from a Connecticut high school who have been accepted to an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. Selection is based on the applicant’s submitted application, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. This scholarship supports higher education for women pursuing traditional college or university programs and does not apply to vocational or technical schools.

The Helping Hand Scholarship is a merit-based award, established in honor of Gene Mazur, a long-time helping hand of Manchester, Connecticut.
The award is open to females who attended Manchester, CT school systems, and who have been accepted to attend an accredited trade school. A traditional high school diploma is not required; applicants who earned a GED or followed a non-traditional educational path are equally encouraged to apply. This scholarship is not need-based. Selection is based on merit, including the applicant’s motivation, practical aptitude, and dedication to their chosen trade. Consideration will also be given to letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, employers, or community members who can speak to the applicant’s character, work ethic, and potential for success in the trades.
